The Family Tree - Mixed Media Encaustic

Ahhhh, it feels good to be working with encaustic again! I haven’t had the place or space to do much encaustic work over the winter, so now I am working on finishing up some pieces that I had started before the snow started to fall. My recent move to California has made it possible to set up an outside studio and work during the afternoons again.

This is my latest encaustic; a mixed media piece utilizing a repurposed product package, old black & white photograph, twig, and encaustic medium set into a shadow box.

The piece is approximately 4.25″x5.5″ and is set into a 9.5″x1.5″ shadow box frame.
